Reaction- I know when my parents think of all of the technology that I'm using, they think that I am being anti-social, but it's actually the opposite. I love talking to friends and pretty much always have to stay in contact with them. Technology brings people together in so many ways it's so hard to believe. Texting, something almost everyone does, is such a great tool and is so convenient. The fact of being able to hold multiple conversations at once with people across the country is so crazy to me. Not to mention social networking and how we can basically follow people to see what they are doing, look at pictures and so many other things. Most people think when you are on your phone or on a computer that you are being anti-social, but in fact you are socializing more. There is a right time to use technology and a wrong time, but when used correctly, it can lead you to endless possibilities.

I agree. I think the technology is having the opposite effect of "anti-social" If anything it keeps us in more of a constant communication.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I have benefited tremendously from using social networking. Internet has made it possible for me to make friends all over the world when I was in China to practice speaking and this boosted my English, a foreign language, in a distinguishable way so shortly. Thus, I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to use these amazing tools on the internet and be sociable in another way.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Many times my father asks me why dont you go out and get friends. I respond with I am talking to them online about the game last night. He simply shakes his head and doesnt really understand this whole computer thing, but he is catching on slowly
ReplyDeleteI think we should take the time and assist our parents with technology!
